THE GRAND CANYON
“The Grand Canyon fills me with awe. It is beyond comparison - beyond description; absolutely unparalleled throughout the wide world.” - Theodore Roosevelt
“A powerful and inspiring landscape, Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses through its immense size. Unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms decorate a canyon that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep.” - nps.gov/grca
Whether you want to stay in a luxurious lodge or camp in a campground, go on a relaxing day hike or an adventurous trek through the canyon, visiting The Grand Canyon is a surreal experience that has something to offer for everyone.

The South Rim is open all year and is the center of activity and the transportation hub for the park. There are lodges, campgrounds, restaurants, and shopping at the South Rim.
Here you’ll find three areas of interest: The Visitor Center and Mather Point; Market Plaza - the business center where the general store, the bank and the US Post Office are located; and The Historic District, where the railroad depot and original hotels and pioneer village started.
-
Desert View is open year-round. Here you can hike the Desert View trails and visit the Desert View Watchtower, the Tusayan Ruin and Museum.
-
The North Rim has lodging and restaurants and is open May - October. Visiting the North Rim is a worthwhile trip for those who enjoy the road less traveled. Home to the Grand Canyon Lodge and a campground, this side of the canyon is visited by only 10% of Grand Canyon visitors.
-
The Inner Canyon includes everything below the rim and is visited mainly by hikers, backpackers, mule riders, or river runners. There are plenty of opportunities here for adventurous people who want to backpack, ride a mule to Phantom Ranch, or take a river trip through the Canyon on the Colorado River.
